No personal attacks, flaming, baiting or trolling. (Please see terminology) Snark against forum members, Bear Grylls, and all topics will not be tolerated. If you cannot find a polite way to say it, then please don't post it. Absolutely no tolerance to attacks on a person’s race, gender, religion, political beliefs, lifestyle, etc. Notes: Personal attacks are not allowed but if you use your personal experiences to make a point, then that post is open to debate. Negative responses to that post will not be considered a personal attack. If you do not want your personal experiences to be discussed, then please don't post them. Please remember that posts lack many of the clues people use to determine what someone means. Visual, auditory and gestures cannot be seen. What may seem perfectly clear to the poster, may not to you. So give everyone the benefit of the doubt and cast the best possible light on his or her post. If in doubt, you can ask, politely No offensive personal remarks or speculation about Bear Grylls and/or his family. All opinions are welcome as long as they are expressed politely and follow the rules. Note: If you feel a post breaks the rules then please notify the Admin or Moderators. Do not reprimand other posters. If you see a problem, please report it to either the Admin or a Mod. 2. Stalking and Harassment All threats will be reported to the proper authorities. Do not threaten other posters, even if that poster is also you under another name. (People have been known to do this) It will get all your user accounts banned. E-mailing and Private Messaging people to attack them personally off board is also unacceptable behavior and, when reported to the Admin, may be grounds for temporary suspension or permanent banning from the forum. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis. 3. User Accounts You may have ONE user account. Multiple user accounts are grounds for banning. If you have accidentally created a second account, please contact a moderator and it will be removed for you. Do not use another’s login or lend yours out. Do not choose a login that is similar to an existing login in order to cause trouble. 4. Posting Rules Banned Topics - Do not post about abortion, politics, religion, or sexual assault as a real life topic. Do not bring these real life subjects into the discussions. Violations - Do not post or link to fraudulent and/or impersonating Bear Grylls websites of any kind. Other Sites - Do not carry posts from other sites to here. Exceptions are factual episode announcements, or any type of fun information fans may be interested in learning. (Such as TV appearance dates, etc.) Illegal Activities - Do not post about any illegal activities you might engage in, such as illegal drug use. Bear Grylls - Do not call Bear Grylls, or any member of his family offensive names. Do not post violence against Bear Grylls, his family or associates. Staying on Topic – Stay on topic and please post in the correct section. Advertising - Please do not use the forum to advertise products or services and other message forums. This includes putting a link in your signature. 5. PG-13 This is a PG-13 board. We do have registered users who are younger than 18. We also wish to maintain a certain level of respect for Bear, his family and all others. Keep all content to a PG13 level. If you are in doubt, please contact the Admin or a Moderator and ask before posting. Certain curse words are automatically filtered out on this forum. Do not bypass that filter with alternate spellings. 6. Links Links to approved sites are allowed. For the most part, these will be links to other survival sites. Links to sites restricted to ages 18+, porn, religious groups, fan fiction and any site that we find inappropriate or offensive will not be allowed. If you are unsure about a link, please request permission from the Admin or a Mod BEFORE posting it. Please do not hot-link to graphics. 7. Questions For Bear Grylls Questions for Bear deemed too personal by the Admin and/or Moderators will be deleted without notice. Do not answer questions in the Questions for Bear section. These questions are meant for Bear or his representatives, not other board members. If you feel you know the answer to a question, please contact a Moderator. 8. Moderator Actions/Censorship The Admin and Mods reserve the right to delete anything they choose, at any time, without advance notice. All users should follow the spirit of the above rules and not just the letter. Do not discuss disciplinary actions on the board. Members may discuss their own warnings or bannings via email with a Moderator or Admin. No other announcement, discussion or debate will be permitted on the board. Admin/Mods will not discuss disciplinary measures with any individual except the one involved. Do not repost deleted posts or portions of posts that may have been edited out. If you are unsure why a post was deleted/edited, please contact a Mod. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you disagree with a moderator action, please use the following procedure: First try to resolve the problem with the moderator who issued the action. They are more than willing to discuss the issue and usually the problem can be resolved quickly. If you are not satisfied with the Mod's decision, then please contact the Admin. The Admin has the final say in all disputes. Questions are always welcome. Please don't hesitate to ask! It is completely understandable that people will, at least at times, have differing opinions. This is welcome, but at the same time, please understand clearly that this is a fansite message forum. Wild / Born Survivor) Have fun and enjoy the forum! MODERATOR FUNCTION INFO Moderator Information Moderators The primary function of the Moderators is to enforce the rules. The rules and policy of this board are created by the Admin and cannot be changed by mods. Mods do not personally know or have access to Bear, and because of this, they cannot answer personal questions about him. Mods also try to resolve issues between members and create a tolerant atmosphere. If you have a problem or issue you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to speak to a Mod. All communications will be kept confidential and are appreciated. The Mods are here to help! Basic Mod functions include: Enforce the posted rules. Answer questions and help board members. Review and respond to Bad Post Reports Delete, move, merge, lock and stick threads Edit signatures, avatars and profile pictures Edit posts and polls Restrictions: Mods do not have the power to create or edit the rules. Privacy: Mods do not have access to sensitive user information such as IP and email addresses. This information can only be seen by the Administrator. Accountability: Mods are expected to follow the same rules as registered users. Bad Post Reports If you see a problem with a post, please report the post by bringing it to the attention of the Mods. I cannot stress enough how helpful this is. This is a large forum and it's not always possible to read every post. All reports are kept confidential. We will not give your name to the person you are reporting or any other user. Reports are logged in a private location that only the Admin and Mods can access. Reports that are borderline or judgment calls may be reviewed by all Mods to reach a consensus. The user being reported will only be contacted if action needs to be taken or clarification is needed. They will not be told the name of the person who reported them. Disputes If you disagree with a moderator action, please use the following procedure: First try to resolve the problem with the Moderator who issued the warning. They are more than willing to discuss the issue and usually the problem can be resolved quickly. If you are not satisfied with the mod's decision, then please contact the admin. Admin has the final say in all disputes. TERMINOLOGY Terminology Personal attack: When you debate the poster instead of the post. Instead of discussing the merits of the post…an individual's personality, beliefs, lifestyle, convictions or principles are attacked. Flaming: To verbally attack someone with harsh, unnecessary words. Deliberately hostile and insulting. Baiting: Posting something for no other reason than to upset others. Trolling: Deliberately provoking arguments. |
